Hot

We left Vegas and headed to San Diego. To get there you must drive through the Mojave Desert. Hot is an understatement. It's an oven. There is no escaping it because there is no shade. There is no breeze. It's not exactly a scenic byway either. It looks like a scene from Bonanza. I can't imagine the number of snakes slithering around. By the time we arrived in San Diego the temperature had gone from 111 to 68. I'm shocked we didn't catch a cold. 

We also visited Hoover Dam on our way out of town. It was interesting!! Amazing really. A good stop along the way. We enjoyed all the puns from our great guide...including the classic 'take all the dam pictures you want.'
